IMPRESSIONS ABOUT THE PROJECT "LIVE AND MOVE BETWEEN OLOT AND DUBLIN"

Dublin was a city I had never been to, so it sounded interesting to me from the first time I was told about the project. At first it was quite disappointing to know that we had to make some exercises related to the trip, but we didn’t care about it when we thought of going to Ireland for two weeks.
Once the plane had landed at the airport, reality came back to our minds and we all asked ourselves how the family and the school would be. I have to admit that I was really nervous even though I had done something similar before. But it was such a good surprise to meet my host family, very kind people who treated me really nicely since the first day.
I sincerely expected the school to be bigger and to be full of younger students. However, I think we all got quickly adapted to the lessons, which were very relaxed. The level of English taught there was excellent though.
It was interesting to meet other young people from all over Europe who were staying in Dublin for different reasons and in different periods of time. Getting to know more about the Irish culture gave us the opportunity to understand a little better how people live there. This is why we didn’t only focus on the historical monuments of the city, but also on small villages and local markets or festivals.
I would personally recommend taking part in this project to other students in the next years, even though I wouldn’t repeat it. It was a great experience which I enjoyed a lot, but I think that two weeks in Ireland are definitely enough. Dublin is a city where everyone should go to if they have the chance, but once seen I wouldn’t visit it again, or at least for a few years.
After some months I have a good memory of that trip and I’ll never forget.

In my opinion, all the students that have the opportunity to make a trip like this should make it.
It’s an opportunity to know a different country, a different culture and learn another way to live the life.
We know that every country has a special way to cook, to think, to live, to feel, to love…
We know all this, but if you don’t have the opportunity to go there and feel all this things by yourself, you will never understand it.
It’s a very good opportunity to know new people because you speak with people from other countries, you live with them, and they explain to you how they live…
I really learnt a lot of new things, and not all was related with English. There, you are away from home, you have to be independent, do the things by yourself and find solutions to your problems sometimes without help.
It’s true that you improve a lot your English, but not everything is English. You can improve as a person in a trip like this, and it’s equally or more important than learning English.
